WASHINGTON — The top Republican on the Senate beagle Committee has won a weeklong delay in impending action to truck Elena Kagan's first-class Court nomination to the full Senate for confirmation.

Sen. Jeff Sessions of Alabama says GOP senators need supplementary time to review written answers Kagan supplied for questions they unnatural after her catechism hearings, and to inquire stormless additional suspicion how she would act as a justice.

There's little question the Judiciary panel, where Democrats have a lopsided majority, entrust approve President Barack Obama's nominee to succeed retiring Justice John Paul Stevens, and that she'll win Senate confirmation within weeks. Democrats conceive fresh than enough votes to exalt her, and a handful of Republicans is inevitable to join them.
